Verstappen BAN could offer Ricciardo shock F1 return
Daniel Ricciardo might receive an opportunity to return to the Formula 1 grid in 2025, as he confronts the likelihood of spending at least a year away from racing.
The 35-year-old was removed from F1 in September 2024, following a season-long struggle with the junior Red Bull team.
Liam Lawson took his place and has now been elevated to the main Red Bull seat, with Isack Hadjar stepping into Lawson’s former position at VCARB. This shift leaves Ricciardo without any feasible options for a 2025 seat.
The Australian hasn’t officially retired, but a full-time comeback to the sport appears unlikely. Teams seem to prefer younger talents, and several other seasoned racers are also attempting comebacks, including Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas.
Could Ricciardo still have the opportunity to race in another grand prix if something goes drastically wrong for Red Bull in 2025?
