Prior to joining the Capitals, he served as the head coach of the Hershey Bears, the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, from 2018 to 2021, posting a record of 104-50-9-8. His tenure in Hershey was highlighted by a 24-7-2-0 record in the 2020-21 season .
