Sources close to the club claim that Guimarães, who was never actually part of the NRL but had become an honorary fan-favourite among Knights supporters, walked into team HQ early this morning, placed a neatly folded letter on the conference table, and boldly declared his resignation from… whatever role he felt he held.
Witnesses say staff were momentarily frozen as the Brazilian star—better known for dazzling Premier League midfields than rugby league touchlines—explained that “the time had come to pursue new horizons… possibly involving less confusion about what sport he plays.”
Despite the surreal nature of the announcement, members of the Knights fan community expressed genuine disappointment.
