JUST IN: Few Minutes Ago Collingwood Football Star Nick Daicos Suspended Indefinitely After Testing Positive For Administrative Error

In a stunning and completely unexpected development, Collingwood Football Club has confirmed that star midfielder Nick Daicos has been indefinitely suspended from official competition after testing positive for what officials are calling a league-wide administrative anomaly.

According to sources close to the AFL integrity unit, the test in question had nothing to do with performance-enhancing substances, but instead flagged Daicos for an “irregular data overlap” caused by a newly introduced digital tracking system.

“Nick tested positive for being registered twice in the league database,” an AFL spokesperson said. “Once as a player and once as a ‘generational talent,’ which technically violates competition rules.”

The confusion reportedly stems from a recent software update that automatically categorizes elite players into experimental performance tiers. Daicos was allegedly flagged after the system attempted to assign him three Brownlow votes in a pre-season training drill.

Collingwood officials expressed confidence that the matter will be resolved quickly.

“Nick has done absolutely nothing wrong,” the club said in a statement. “He simply trained too well while the system was watching.”

Fans gathered outside the AIA Centre in disbelief, with some chanting “FREE DAICOS” while others refreshed their phones every few seconds hoping for clarification.

The AFL has confirmed the suspension will remain in place until the database remembers he is, in fact, human.
