TRAGIC LOSS: Legendary Coach Dies in Car Crash

SILVERDALE — In a devastating turn of events, the head coach of the Silverdale Storm, Jace Rourke, has been confirmed dead after a serious car accident late Thursday night.

Rourke, 59, was en route to the Storm’s final training session before the championship finals when his vehicle collided with a semi-trailer on the outskirts of Silverdale. Emergency services arrived within minutes, but Rourke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Storm organization released a statement early Friday morning, expressing deep sorrow and describing Rourke as a “titan of the sport” whose leadership and passion transformed the team into a powerhouse.

“He wasn’t just our coach,” said team captain Marcus Flynn. “He was our mentor, our father figure, and our greatest inspiration.”

Rourke’s career spanned more than three decades, during which he led the Storm to five league titles and developed dozens of players who went on to national success. Known for his intense training style and tactical genius, he was widely respected across the league.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Officials have not yet released details about road conditions or possible mechanical failure.

Fans have already begun leaving flowers and jerseys outside the Storm’s training facility, and a memorial service is expected to be held later this week.

League officials have announced that all games this weekend will be postponed as the community mourns.
